Today is indeed a sad day in America.
The unions have struck the final blow to free markets. Hostess Brands cites an inability to produce its product due to the striking union workers.
This decision by Hostess shouldn't come as a surprise to 19,000 workers as they were warned if the strike didn't cease by Thursday they would shut down all operations.
A company founded in 1930 which was able to survive many economic hardships was not able to survive the union/big government climate of 2012.
The over 19,000 workers formerly employed by Hostess will now have to find jobs in this harsh business climate.
As of this morning Hostess Brands website hostesscakes.com could no longer be found.
Hopefully Michele Obama doesn't croak tonight when I chow down on Papa John’s Pizza and enjoy some Twinkies; while I still can, for dessert.
